Early 19th Century Camphor Wood Chest, Hong Kong

Crafted in the early 19th century by carpenter and cabinet makers AH FOO, this large chest is a beautiful example of craftsmanship.

Constructed from sturdy camphor wood, the chest has a hinged lid with a brass pull and two additional brass handles on the sides.

Brass panels are inlaid around the edges and corners of the chest, with the front centre one missing. The inside of the lid features the original maker's label.

This chest combines beauty, history and practicality, making it a wonderful storage for any home.
