This oval dining table and set of six chairs was manufactured by the Cherner company in 2013.

Originally designed by Norman Cherner in 1958, the Cherner carver chair has since become one of the most iconic designs of the 20th century.

In 1999 Norman Cherner’s sons founded the Cherner Chair Company, re-issuing their father's classic designs using the original drawings and moulds.

Constructed from moulded plywood with a walnut veneer in a natural finish, the chairs have a curvaceous silhouette.

The sculptural seat and backrest are formed from a single piece of ply. For the two carver chairs, another length of plywood curves up and out from the legs and around the back to create exaggerated armrests.

Inspired by the curves of the original Cherner chair, the dining table was designed by Benjamin Cherner in 2003 and is constructed from moulded plywood with a walnut veneer in a classic finish.

The large oval table top balances the curved legs, giving an elegant and minimalist aesthetic, in keeping with the mid-century modern designs of Norman Cherner.

Beautifully crafted, this set would make a fantastic centrepiece in any contemporary dining room or open plan living space.

Very slight dents and small scratches to the top of the table as pictured. Minor scratches to the seats on a few chairs.
