Futuristic Joe Colombo Italian Brown Leather Elda Armchair, 1960s
Originally designed by Joe Colombo in 1965 after he visited a shipyard where the boat hulls were made from fibreglass, and named after his wife, the Elda armchair has become a true design icon of the 20th century.
With a white moulded plastic shell, the armchair has a curvaceous silhouette, with a high back and sitting on a circular rotating base.
The seat and backrest are formed from seven individual padded cushions upholstered in brown leather, creating a futuristic aesthetic.
A fantastic example of the 1960s space-age style, this Elda armchair would make a bold statement in any contemporary living space.
