Hans Olsen Teak Extending Dining Table & Tripod Leather Dining Chairs, 1960s
Designed by Hans Olsen, this 1960s dining table and chairs set is a fantastic example of mid century Danish design.
Comprising a ‘roundette’ style table and 6 matching dining chairs, the set is constructed from teak wood.
The table top transforms from round to oval with the addition of a central leaf which is stored in the centre of the table, while the tripod shape of the chairs allows them to fit snugly underneath.
The curved backrests allow the chairs to interlock seamlessly with the rounded edges of the table, while the triangular seat cushions are upholstered in black leatherette.
Both the chairs and table have tapered legs in matching teak giving the piece a sleek and minimalistic aesthetic and they are labelled with the Danish Furniture Makers Quality Control label, a voluntary control system established in 1959.
Incredibly versatile, this Hans Olsen dining set is perfect for compact living spaces when used in its smaller form and can be easily extended when needed, while the chairs can be stacked away when not in use, making it ideal for busy modern life.

Wear consistent with age and use. Great vintage condition. Wood remains in the most sought-after unrestored condition, complete with the original painted written markings. The grain is full of character and patina, slight indentations and scratches. Leather is in excellent condition.
