Afra & Tobia Scarpa for B&B Italia Dessau Black Dining Chair, Circa 1974
Originally designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for B&B Italia in 1973, the Dessau dining chair was a tribute to Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus design movement and is named after the city where the iconic Bauhaus building is located.
Featuring a curved tubular steel frame, creating a cantilever base and integrated arm rests, the chairs have a backrest and seat formed from black moulded plastic.
Sleek and sophisticated, giving the classic Bauhaus aesthetic a 1970s twist, this Dessau chair would make a fantastic addition to any contemporary dining room or living space.
